Ten individuals sentenced of cyber-bullying targeting Brigitte Macron

A French judicial body has found guilty ten people for engaging in the cyber-bullying of Brigitte Macron, the partner of French President, Emmanuel Macron.
The accused individuals faced charges of spreading untruths regarding her gender and sexual orientation, in addition to posting hurtful comments about the couple's age disparity of 24 years.
The court issued suspended jail terms of as much as eight months to the perpetrators. The full ruling has not yet been published.
A longstanding false narrative claiming that Brigitte Macron is a transgender woman has been in circulation since her husband's initial election in 2017.
This recent ruling in France coincides with the Macrons initiating a libel case in the United States of America against political commentator Candace Owens, who has repeatedly shared analogous false narratives about the Brigitte Macron's identity.
Their legal filing states that Owens ignored all credible evidence disproving her claim in favour of platforming known conspiracy theorists.
Owens has regularly repeated these assertions on her digital program and social networks, and in March 2024 declared that she would stake her entire professional reputation on her conviction that Mrs. Macron is biologically male.
Brigitte Macron originally became acquainted with her future husband when she worked as an educator at his lycée.
The couple entered into matrimony in 2007, when the then-29-year-old Emmanuel Macron was 29 and she was 54.
