In a surprising crossover event that breaks conventional forecasts, Ubisoft has revealed an in-game crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the renowned anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected Thanksgiving event continues from November 25 through December 22, including complimentary additional story content for Shadows players.

Mysterious Adventure Revealed

According to the authorized statement, "A mysterious encounter leads protagonists Naoe and Yasuke into a fresh mission, where hints of banned ceremonies and terrifying transformations resonate through the darkness." The storyline features a "oddly garbed woman named Ada" who assigns the characters with journeying into the Gemstone Grotto—a important location from Attack on Titan—to liberate her friend from a hidden group.

The adventure centers on "strange tests and a terrifying adversary" and is open to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.

Recognizable Settings and Metamorphoses

The preview highlights the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan redesigned as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was previously where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through generations. The trailer ends with a striking scene showing a character, likely the captive, morphing into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.

Exclusive Rewards and Bonus Content

Players who successfully complete the mission will obtain an special katana alongside multiple artifacts secreted throughout the area in concealed chests. The update also includes purchasable Attack on Titan item packs, including:

• Titan-themed costume for Yasuke
• Mikasa outfit for Naoe
• Unique weapons
• Survey Corps steed

This update also brings the game's newest free story content, titled "The Mystery." This lighthearted adventure partners Naoe and Yasuke as they swap signature techniques: Naoe debuts a theatrical interpretation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke learns non-fatal stealth takedowns. Faithful to its name, "A Puzzlement" also includes a fresh environmental puzzle that may ultimately explain some unresolved questions from the main storyline.
